Last week we talked about helping kids find great books to read, and how that can take time and effort on the part of the parent. This week, I’m going to lighten your load! I present to you 10 book series for first and second graders that June has loved…

First Grade

These are all series that June read independently and loved in first grade. She still reads and enjoys most of them now, having just completed second grade!

The Ada Lace series by Emily Calandrelli | Third-grader Ada solves mysteries in her new neighborhood in this series of six books. A science lover’s dream, Ada uses research methods and builds contraptions to help her solve problems, and her unending curiosity is supported by her loving, funny family. (The author is the host of the former Netflix show Emily’s Wonder Lab!)
