A day in the life of The Connected Family
The Spring, workday edition with an 8-, 5-, and 2-year-old
Day-in-the-life posts are tricky.
At their best, they’re an eye-opening peek into someone else’s world that helps us feel less alone, challenges us to try new things, or gives us ideas we can translate into our own unique lives. At their worst, they can lead to comparison, envy, shame, guilt, judgy-ness, and other feelings we generally try to avoid. In addition, they can bump up uncomfortably against my sense of privacy.1
For these reasons and more, I have never written a day-in-the-life post in my more than 15 years of writing on the internet.
That being said—
I have learned so much and been inspired many times over because of the willingness of others to share. And when it comes to helping establish norms and encouraging others toward low-screen living and a play-based childhood, I’m all in.
So here we are! Offering a peek at a typical day in the life of our family in the spring, when our kids are 8, 5, and 2.2 Let’s go!
