As I write this, we’re two days out from our most recent camping trip. My hair has almost lost the smell of woodsmoke, the mountain of laundry is almost done, and my back has almost recovered from sleeping in a tent. (Off to a great start with convincing you to go camping, right? 😉)
In truth, camping is almost never the easiest, and not even always the most enjoyable, family activity — and yet I’m completely convinced its one of the best things I can do for my kids, and for our family as a whole.
We now camp a few times a year, but this annual trip with these friends remains one of our oldest and most treasured traditions. (12 years running!) Today, I’d love to share a few photos from our weekend and a few1 of my reasons for loving camping — even if it feels like it doesn’t always love me back :)
Psst — have you taken the survey yet? I’m going to dive into the results next week as I plan the next few months of newsletters, and I’d love to hear from you!
Could this photo be any more perfect? It just so happened to be in the restaurant where we ended up for dinner after our Saturday night plans went awry, and I grinned when I saw it.
